Foreword

Alaska is Americas 49th state. It is over twice the size of Texas. It is home of seven mountain ranges and over three million lakes. It is not uncommon to see over 100 degrees difference in temperature from one part of the state to another on any given day. Most of Alaska is accessible only by airplane or dog sled. Boats are used along the river systems.

If you are flying in this great state and unfortunately crash, your chances of survival are slim at best. This story is about an Air Force cargo plane that crashes in interior Alaska killing four crew members. Three airmen survive the crash. They are about to see how hostile this land can be.

After all hopes of rescue faded, the three airmen, though inexperienced of wild Alaska, set out on their own in hopes of finding their way back to civilization. Will these three airmen survive this great wilderness, or will their names be added to the hundreds of names of prospectors, trappers and crash victims that were forever lost to this unforgiving no mans land?
